Calculating Flight Costs with the Aviapages Flight Cost Calculator: A Detailed Example

When planning a private jet flight, understanding the various cost components is crucial. The Aviapages Flight Cost Calculator provides an efficient way to estimate these expenses, considering multiple factors such as flight time, passenger numbers, catering, and additional fees.

Here’s a detailed breakdown of how to calculate the cost using the Aviapages tool. Additionally, each fee can be customized to suit your specific needs in the calculations.

1. Flight Time with Passengers

  • - Up to 1 hour: EUR 3,000

  • - Up to 3 hours: EUR 2,500/hour

- Over 3 hours: EUR 2,000/hour

Example Calculation: If the flight time is 4 hours:

  • - First 1 hour: EUR 3,000

  • - Next 2 hours: EUR 5,000 (2 * EUR 2,500)

  • - Final hour: EUR 2,000

Total Flight Time Cost: EUR 10,000

2. Additional Passenger Costs

For each passenger on board, add EUR 400. If the flight involves cabotage (domestic flights in another country), an additional EUR 300 per passenger is required.

Example Calculation:

  • - 4 passengers: EUR 1,600

  • - Cabotage: EUR 1,200

Total Passenger Cost: EUR 2,800

3. Catering Costs

If the flight exceeds 2 hours, catering is required at EUR 300 per passenger, though availability may vary by airport.

Example Calculation:

  • - 4 passengers: EUR 1,200

4. Positioning Costs

For flights up to 1,000 km, the positioning cost is EUR 1,500. For distances over 1,000 km, the cost is EUR 800 per hour. If the positioning flight is within Austria, a 35% discount applies.

Example Calculation:

  • - Distance: 1,200 km, estimated at 1.5 hours

  • - Positioning Cost: EUR 1,200 (1.5 * EUR 800)

Total Positioning Cost: EUR 1,200
